What is 5,000 years old but feels new each time someone discovers it? The answer is Ayurveda, which translated literally from Sanskrit means “knowledge of life.” Ayurveda is the ancient Indian art of healing whose goal is to promote health and encourage vitality, rejuvenation, and long life.
Ayurveda is the chosen lifestyle for millions of people throughout the world because it not only works, but also allows you to be at the center of your life - to control what you eat, your daily routines and habits, and your attitude.
Ayurveda categorizes the human body and everything else living and nonliving in the universe into five building blocks. These so-called elements are metaphors, or symbols. In the physical body these elements create vital energies that combine to enable digestion, metabolism, breathing, and other powerful processes
The three doshas, or bio-energies—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha--are at the heart of Ayurveda. They are dynamic forces that help us understand our physical and emotional state; the effect of environment, seasons and surroundings on health; and impact of nutrition, exercise, meditation and other actions on health.
